(While feature discussion and usability, royalties, and other talk move to the community blogbinders_com, we will still maintain this journal as an admin diary of BB.) Fiddling around tonight with encoding and the XML RPC and encodings. Grrr. We're working on fixing the (cannot be shown) entries that show up sporadically in journals. The search function on lj_dev just plain sucks! I'm squinting through gobs of entries trying to find something related to this. Sigh! But, finally we are converted to UTF-8 encoding to handle entries, and now it's on line. We got a reviewer, an old friend Jason Pettus who's going to do literary reviews of our library! I respect Jason as the oldest & truest "blogger" I know. He's an author's author, and used to do the poetry slam circuit. Yay!

Greetings! We're announcing that we *finally* figured out how to create and manage a community for Blogbinders. We'd like to ask that all Q&A and discussion move to blogbinders_com. This site will be updated with any relevant administrative news; please move all other discussion to the community. On a side note, we met with CafePress today and things went swimmingly! Can't tell you how many people have come up to us and said "hey, I thought of that!" - including these guys ;) We're just glad that it got done, one way or the other. Judging by how much activity we've had in the past 4 hours (thanks, lj_nifty) it looks like we'll be around for a good long time! We've hired a staff reviewer, who will be writing plugs for all y'all's books (If you agreed to let us list in the Book Catalog, that is) - so we're trying hard to help sell your books! (Please rest assured that if you didn't opt-in, we will keep your work absolutely private.) Best regards, Matt & Jen

Today's improvements: support for moods and music! Thanks for voting in the poll. Also fixed an issue with some journals that were trying to retrieve entry dates that didn't exist (like Sept. 31st!). Support for images will come, but can't promise a release date just yet. Though we have a strategy, we don't want to get ahead of ourselves. We applied to be posted on lj_nifty, so we're anxiously awaiting approval! Time to turn this baby loose! Thanks again to everyone so far who's signed up and tried the service, and a million thanks to those of you who bought your books!

(Okay, don't forget to vote if you didn't already!) Looks like images are the clear winner so far in the poll. We're working on it. Done incorrectly, it could bring things to a screeching halt due to (potential) hundreds of images a user may link to in any given time period - so we're trying to figure out the best strategy. Meanwhile, back at the ranch, the award for best shiny new book goes to markahix. We ordered one from our own catalog and wow! what a tome - shiny, black, and 439 pages of solid text in one of the biggest book size formats we offer!!! Woo hoo! Wow - they called! Just as we were trying to figure out how to get a meeting with CafePress, they got in touch with us. Or maybe it was vice versa, but a coincidence nonetheless. So in we go, next week! Here to make your book a better book, one step at a time... BB Current Mood: Surprised and excited

Wow, no kidding, news spreads like wildfire! So many orders today I ate dinner and have been glued to this chair reviewing 'em all evening. Had a few glitches to work out, but we're done. This " loop out of control" for the old entries is a slight irritation, but not serious. Happy browsing! Don't forget, if you opt to let us put your book in the online store, you can see your listing, post the url in your journal, or give the URL to your friends so they can buy your book too~ Current Mood: exhausted Current Music: Elvis
